Trap Shooting

The Sidney Shooting Park has four (4) dedicated Trap fields and and a fifth field that doubles for Skeet.  All fields are lighted for night shooting, and are equipped with voice-activated Pat-Trap throwing machines (2 with wobble trap).

Members have unlimited access to the Trap venue during daylight hours, and receive $1 off practice rounds of 25 targets.  Members cost is $5 per round of 25 targets, and non-Members pay $6.

All participants must wear the proper eye and ear protection.

All shooters provide their own ammunition.

2024 Trap League Information

2024 Spring Trap League (3-Person Team) begins Tuesday, April 23rd and will run for 6 weeks through May 28th.

Shooters are required to reset the field after they are finished shooting.

This means:

  • Release the last target loaded by the machine

  • Refill the carousel with clay targets

  • Remove all empty cardboard boxes from the trap house (please dispose of in the CARDBOARD dumpster)

  • Pick up all empty shotgun hulls (please dispose of in the TRASH dumpster)

  • Put the sight-in T-post back in the house as soon as you are finished with it - lean it up against the wall and not against the hydraulic pump.

  • If another team will be taking the field, you must also move the speakers back to the 16-yard line.

If you are closing up the trap house, please:

  • Stow all equipment in an orderly fashion

  • Roll up cables without knots

  • Store the sandbags on the stairs, not the floor.

  • Lock the padlock, regardless if it was open when you got there.

Please be considerate of others by picking up after yourself and leaving the field better than you found it.

Clay Target Fees

Trap target Fees:

  • Members - $5 per round of 25 targets

  • Non-Members - $6 per round of 25 targets

Patterning Board

The Sidney Shooting Park has a steel patterning board (for shotguns only) over the hill to the north of Trap Field 1.  You may drive there by taking the road behind the clubhouse.  We have black spray paint available in the clubhouse, or you may bring your own paper and tape.

Please DO NOT pattern your shotgun against the Trap houses!  Any shooter caught doing this will be banned for life.
